Ellis Family | Extended Family Portraits
Sometimes you have to just put your faith in God and let Him take control. The days leading up to their session date, I was frantically monitoring the weather noticing the rain chance was high for the weekend. Usually, if it is supposed to rain during a shoot, I will suggest rescheduling. However, rescheduling wasn’t an option in this case. The Ellis family were all coming together for a family reunion, and they only have this sort of reunion every few years. The house they rented in Kingsland was right on a little river so photos outside would look lovely, but the inside was really dark and did not provide a lot of light inside. Basically, I had no other options.
The hours leading up to the Ellis family session were nerve wracking. The forecast showed that there weren’t supposed to be storms during their session; however, as I drove to Kingsland, it started to rain. As I got closer, I kept praying to God that the rain would pass and I could shoot because I had no idea what we would do if we couldn’t. I arrived to the house, and it was still sprinkling a little bit, but as I was taking a look around the property, the rain stopped. I gathered the family outside, and I was able to get all the photos that they wanted in the time frame we set!
In these photos, you’ll see Barry and Frances, their three children, and the families their three children created.
As I was leaving the house, it started to pour.
