There was a moment when we thought Sabrina’s session wouldn’t happen, or at least as planned. The evening before there was a huge rainstorm that came blowing through, and it was originally supposed to last throughout the next morning. Sabrina and I were messaging back and forth as I watched the forecast weighing different date options with enough time for her to get graduation announcements out. Luckily, the forecast shifted and the next morning would be clear for her session!
It was a cool morning with overcast skies that helped make a 45-minute session into two hours. It was long, but Sabrina had so many ideas that we had to get in! Sabrina’s mom drove up from San Antonio to join her on her shoot, and she brought all sorts of props from the Dr. Seuss classic Oh the Places You’ll Go, real champagne, and a fake champagne bottle confetti popper. I love it when parents want to be involved in this milestone of their child’s life! Sabrina’s mom also hired someone off Etsy to design her grad cap, but instead of working on the cap itself, the designer created a slip that Sabrina could put on top of her cap.
Sabrina was a firecracker with everything that I threw at her. One of the most sentimental parts of her shoot was grabbing a few photos in front of her first dorm, East Hall. It’s also in the University Master Plan for East Hall to be torn down. This means, Sabrina’s first home on campus eventually won’t be there. It was so special for her that we grab a few shots there!
Sabrina was a Communications Major with a desire to go into event planning after graduation!
